This week was kinda crazy. On Monday I realized that the wet link penetrator model I have been using was hollow and had no internal mass or volume. Because of this I had to spend an entire shortened Monday re-modeling the penetrator.
After changing the model, to have the newly solid penetrators, the entire balance of the ROV was off. It was also significantly heavier. Because of this I had to spend a large period of time re-balancing the ROV.
To do this, I had to revert many of the features I had added, like the cable channel running the length of the tube and the extra hand room around the handles. I also had to thicken the end parts to add more volume.
One Tuesday Jonathan Denman came to the shop to tell us about CRABI Robotics and a job opportunity there. He told us to apply, however to do so I needed a resume, a linked in and a portfolio. I made a resume and linked in, then cleaned up the temp pages on my website to use it as my portfolio.
On Thursday I worked on setting up a part list and did some final balancing on the ROV. I also looked for a better power supply with Miles and Alachie. We may have found a good one, however it only converts down to 25v not 20v. This fact along with T200s only having been tested to 300m made us to decide to find new thrusters. We found some nice ones from Türkiye but we are kinda suspicious about the specs.
